We know dark chocolate has its place in your life – and has for a while. Well, we suggest you continue to indulge.  Dark Chocolate and cacao has been used for thousands of years in many cultures to help support many aspects of both mind and body.   

1. Chocolate helps support mood. Cacao contains plant flavanols that play a role in chocolate’s mood-enhancing effects.  Also, chocolate is often associated with happiness and celebrations, which can help trigger endorphins to help you feel more content and calm.   

2. Chocolate has antioxidant properties. Plant flavanols found in the cacao in dark chocolate have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.   

3. Chocolate is good for the skin. Dark chocolate can increase circulation to your skin and improve moisture retention.   

4.  Chocolate is a superfood. Dark chocolate contains so much goodness – fiber, iron, magnesium, probiotics and more.   ​​

But here’s the reality – it just tastes great. And that is a completely valid reason – studies show that when you enjoy your food, you are able to absorb more nutrients as you digest. So if you’re wanting a little something-something after dinner, we suggest you go for it.
