This week, we connect with artist Maggie Stephenson.
Tell us a little bit about you.
I became an artist because I needed to feel freedom in body, mind, work, soul, life—you name it. My work is inspired by everyday events from my surroundings, México’s lush flora and its vibrant colors.
What does wellness mean to you?
Wellness is important in my life because it’s the root of it all. I practice wellness in my life when I stop myself for a moment, refocus and take time to practice self care, whether through nutrition, hikes or time spent doing what I love.
Why were you excited to partner with Rae? What are your favorite Rae products?
I am excited about this collaboration with Rae because I have used Rae products well before this collaboration. What an honor to collaborate with a company you have loved for so long.
My favorite Rae product is the Vegan Collagen Boost, because my skin tends to be dry but after using this daily for the past few months, I’ve noticed a visible glow.
What does ‘shine from inside’ mean to you? How did this come through in your artwork?
For me, ‘shine from inside’ means to send out your purest energy into the world. I represented the concept in my artwork, in a person holding all the good that comes from within. When creating this artwork, I represented nourishment through the woman, holding and reaching for all that is magical and full of light.
